Fukuoka Prefecture has announced the establishment of a special loan program to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by U.S. tariff policies, often referred to as “Trump tariffs.” Governor Seitaro Hattori stated, “As a unique measure by the prefecture, we are introducing a special loan program to address the impact of U.S. tariffs.” The program targets SMEs experiencing or expecting a sales decline of 5% or more due to these tariffs. Starting May 1, the loans will be capped at 30 million yen, with a maximum repayment period of 10 years, and are limited to operating expenses. The prefecture also plans to promptly investigate the impact of tariff measures on SMEs.
